When it comes to the end of the year or the beginning of the next it's time to take a moment of reflection to look back at the best of the previous year. EA Sports took a little longer to do theirs and still people think they haven't done it too well.
With as much inevitability as New Year's Eve being pretty underwhelming everyone spends the beginning of one year handing out awards and lists of the best of the previous year and of course 2017 was no different.
In football of course the Ballon d'Or was once again handed over to Cristiano Ronaldo whilst the BBC and its viewers voted for Mo Farah as their Sport's Personality of the Year but that all happened weeks ago.
Kevin de Bruyne sat down with us to pick his own FIFA Team of the Year:
Even UEFA managed to get their Team of the Year out before it was even over but EA Sports and FIFA 18 have obviously been agonising over theirs for two weeks.
Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Harry Kane's appearances caused no issues whilst the same could be said of the midfielder trio of Kevin de Bruyne, Luka Modric and N'Golo Kante but fans weren't happy with the defence, with Antonio Valencia's absence particularly causing a stir:
#TOTY De Gea, Marcelo, Sergio Ramos, Bonucci and Dani Alves will be available for 48 hours, starting at 6pm UK! TOTY Midfielders will be out of packs from 6pm UK. pic.twitter.com/TycEsEjZRK
