EA Sports have released a brand new FIFA 20 gameplay trailer highlighting the many changes made ahead of the game's release in September.

Already it's clear to see that the EA have once again made several adjustments in order to switch things up from the previous edition of the game, bringing in that element of realism and also with the hope of making it a more enjoyable experience overall.

For starters, in a change that is long overdue, free-kicks and penalties have been given a monumental overhaul.

While the movement of the camera was key to taking set-pieces on FIFA 19, FIFA 20 comprises of an aiming mechanic - inspired by Lionel Messi's dead-ball mastery.

You can perform top spin, side-spin or even a knuckleball free-kick if you fancy channelling your inner Cristiano Ronaldo.

The same can be said for penalties, where there is a bigger target available to use so that spot-kicks are much more precise and accurate.

In addition, EA are introducing 'composed finishing' - which should make for clinical strikes on goal from attacking players thanks to various new shot trajectories.

As seen in the trailer, a fresh feature that promises to be incredibly popular on FIFA 20 is "the set up touch" - essentially rolling the ball forward to get that clean effort on goal. Players will require time and space to perform it but it will bring out less errors in your shots.

Moreover, we have all new ball physics to bring more realistic movements with regards to the ball - which will deviate and spin from bumps on the pitch like never before.

And then the final key element is the focus on dynamic 1v1 situations between attackers and defenders. EA have used the game tempo from the best leagues in the world so that FIFA 20 sees a huge increase in 1v1 duels and changes to both dribbling and defending mechanics will make for plenty of exciting battles between the elite players.

Strafe dribbling, the new system brought in, is all about taking "stutter steps" before luring an opponent in and attempting to beat a defender.

On the defending side, there is better defensive support from AI-controlled players as well as "controlled tackling" - which sees a number of new tackling animations for players to select and regain possession of the ball. The cleaner the tackle, the better chance of winning the ball back.

Thoughts on the new changes to gameplay? Sound off in the comments.
