EA Have Made The Original Ronaldo Five Star Skills On FIFA 18

Ask and you shall receive. Two weeks back we told you how fans were outraged about one detail on the Ronaldo Nazario's FIFA 18 card, and now EA Sports have responded in the best possible way.

"O Fenômeno" hasn't been involved the game for a number of years but has returned for the latest in the FIFA franchise serving as the poster player for the newly introduced FUT Icons - and being front and centre for the 'Icon edition' of the game that gives players the opportunity to tear it up with him for five games on Ultimate Team.

As is the case with the rest of the star-studded list of Icons, which features the likes of David Beckham, Ronaldinho, Thierry Henry, Pele, Diego Maradona, Frank Lampard and Alessandro Del Piero, to name a few, there are three different versions of 'the original Ronaldo' and they all look an absolute joy to play with.

You've got the 90-rated early Ronaldo, when he was making waves at PSV after signing from Cruzeiro in 1994, the sublime Barcelona/Inter Milan version of R9 from 1997, which is 96 rated - and then the 94-rated 2002 World Cup Ronaldo, featuring that atrocious hairstyle.

But fans were furious for reasons unknown, none of the three cards came with five-star skills, which was quite rightly seen as an insult to the legendary R9 - given that with him only being four-star skills, he wouldn't have been able to perform his signature 'Elastico' move, accompanied by the fact that he was five-star skills in his last appearance on the game - in FIFA 11.

However, the amount of disapproval from FIFA fans has forced the head honchos of EA Sports to act and they promptly announced that Ronaldo's 94-rated and 96-rated card has been upgraded to five-star skills.

And the reaction was very different this time around:

Ronaldo is going to be even more enjoyable to play with now. Nice one, EA.
