You Won't Even Have Heard Of Chelsea's Current Longest-Serving Player

Who is he?!

John Terry left Chelsea after 22 glowing years at the club, signing for Championship side Aston Villa after not being offered a new contract by Antonio Conte, and his departure means Chelsea have a new longest-serving player.

But you've probably never even heard of the poor bloke.

Chelsea have been through their fair share of managers over the past few years as Roman Abramovich sees no margin for error at all, but a fact from writer Daniel Storey on Twitter that has been doing the rounds, shows that the turnover of players at Stamford Bridge is equally as rapid.

Now that Terry has moved onto pastures new, the club's longest-serving player is now 24-year old Croatian goalkeeper Matej Delac.

Delac was announced as a Chelsea player back in 2009 after impressing for Inter Zapresic but his career with the Blues has comprised of him being sent on loan nine times and failing to make a competitive appearance for the club.

Of course, his first loan spell was being sent to feeder club Vitesse Arnhem in Holland because that's how Chelsea operate, before temporary stints with Dynamo Ceske Budejovice, Vitoria Guimaraes, former club Inter Zapresic, Vojvodina, Sarajevo, Arles-Avignon, a second spell with Sarajevo and a final season-long loan with Belgian outfit Excel Mouscron followed.

Delac's only appearance for Chelsea was a friendly in 2014 in which he played just over half a game.

The well-travelled shot-stopper was the talk of the town on social media today:

But there's no denying that the best reaction goes to whoever decided to brilliantly change his wikipedia page.
