West Ham's Tweet About Game With Spurs Horribly Backfires

The golden rule of football folks, never leave a game early.

West Ham looked nailed on to pick up a massive three points against Spurs at White Hart Lane in Saturday evening's game, with Slaven Bilic's side leading 2-1 going into the latter stages of the match.

One travelling Hammers fan was so confident that the victory was a given that he decided to break one of football's commandments when he left the game early, with four minutes to spare.

He sent out the following tweet, which garnered over 8,000 retweets.

However as we know, there were a couple of twists and turns in the dying embers of the Spurs-West Ham game, meaning the supporter missed quite a bit of drama.

Harry Kane struck in the 89th minute from close range and then followed it up with a stoppage time penalty after Heung-Min Son was fouled by Håvard Nordtveit in the box - preserving Tottenham's unbeaten start to the Premier League season. West Ham defender Winston Reid was sent off in a dramatic end to the London derby.

The West Ham fan then found out that his team had shipped two late goals and was understandably absolutely gutted.

If we're being honest, it's not his fault that West Ham forgot how to defend so late in the game, but his "can't see me missing much line" definitely came back to bite him.

And that folks is why we don't leave football games early, or even tweet about leaving football games early.
