West Ham's Summary Of Moyes' Time At Manchester United Is Hilarious

He's back in the managerial hotseat...

David Moyes was officially announced as Slaven Bilic's successor earlier today, penning a six-month contract until the end of the season.

Bilic was sacked as manager of the Hammers after seeing his team battered 4-1 by Liverpool at the weekend and seeing them drop into the relegation zone.

And the Hammers replaced the Croat swiftly, with David Gold and David Sullivan handing over the keys to their stalling car to Moyes, despite the fact that many of the fans won't be happy.

Since leaving Everton after 11 great years at Goodison Park, Moyes' managerial career has had a huge downwards spiral. His dream job at United turned into a disaster after a wretched ten-month stint as Sir Alex Ferguson's heir, he dabbled into La Liga with Real Sociedad but never got anywhere and then took Sunderland down to the Championship.

But he's having another crack at management and is now tasked with turning things around at the London Stadium. West Ham confirmed his appointment with a lengthy statement on their club website, but their summary of Moyes' time at United was... interesting to say the least.

It reads as follows: "Moyes won the Community Shield at Wembley in August - becoming the first Manchester United manager ever to win a trophy in his first season in charge, but left the club after just ten months."

Of course they weren't going to say, "He didn't have a clue what was doing and was quite rightly put out of his misery" but plenty of folk found the above description utterly hilarious.

Here's some of the reactions:

Will Moyeseh, Community Shield Champion, get it right at West Ham?

Sound off in the comments.
