Ever wondered what position Mike Dean would've played?

Well, we might have an inkling following his 'brilliant' piece of play while refereeing - if you can even call it that - Southampton vs. Manchester United.

Southampton hosted Manchester United on Wednesday night in a dead rubber, with Jose Mourinho resting his key players ahead of their Europa League final next week.

And rightfully so after failing to qualify into the Champions League via the Premier League. Needless to say, Mourinho's season hinges on the Sweden showpiece.

But before United tangle with Ajax, they do have two league fixtures to take care of. Their penultimate game sees them take on Southampton.

And the game exploded after Dean pointed to the spot despite Eric Bailly handling the ball outside of the box.

Though the spot-kick was brilliantly denied by Sergio Romero as he stopped Manolo Gabbiadini from scoring.

But this is Dean we're talking about. So him doing something daft was always on the card.

A minute before the break, Dean showed his full-back prowess by pulling off a overlap. This is hilarious. We can't stop watching this.
