Manchester United's loss to Manchester City on Sunday afternoon left Jose Mourinho's side 12 points behind Pep Guardiola's team and with no chance of winning the Premier League. But what exactly is more likely than a league title for the Red Devils?
It might only be the middle of November but Manchester United's 3-1 loss at the weekend to Manchester City all but confirmed that the Red Devils won't be lifting the Premier League trophy this season.
Admittedly it's not like that was something most people were considering before the game but if United had won the gap would have been just six points and from there anything is possible.
It's not even that 12 points is impossible to overturn, the Red Devils have done it before and with far less of the season to go, but with so many teams between them and top, City being just a bit brilliant and United being mainly very average it's very unlikely.

In fact it's so unlikely that you can get odds of 150/1 for United to win the league. To paraphrase that typical joke, for those of you who don't understand gambling that means if you put £10 on you'll lose £10.
But what exactly is more likely than a 14th Premier League title for United? Well according to bookies all these events:
Oasis to be Christmas number one 2018 - 12/1
Conor McGregor to face Floyd Mayweather in UFC - 33/1

Manchester City to get record 110 points - 40/1
Alan Pardew to be next England manager - 50/1
Advert
Boris Johnson to be named Time Magazine Person of the Year 2018 - 50/1
Margaret Thatcher to be the face on 50 pound notes - 100/1
Sir Alex Ferguson to be Manchester United's next permanent manager - 100/1
Usain Bolt to sign for Manchester United - 100/1

Katie Hopkins or Katie Price to be the next Doctor Who 110/1
Some of those occurrences having shorter odds is proof of just how far away from winning the title this season United are.
Usain Bolt couldn't even get a professional contract in the A League in Australia, Sir Alex Ferguson has only just recovered from a serious illness, Liam and Noel Gallagher can hardly go 10 minutes without having an argument and Katie Hopkins is so stuck in the past she doesn't need the Tardis.

Basically guys it's not happening!
