Stoke's New Signing Had The Most Eventful First Day Ever

Stoke completed the signing of Moussa Niakate from Paris FC yesterday and he went on to have the most eventful first day ever.

Diego Costa recently hit headlines for his incredible antics on his second debut for Atletico Madrid, but Niakate has trumped him comfortably with what he got up to.

At 16:06, the 21-year old was announced as a Stoke City player, joining up with the Under 23 squad after spending time on trial with the Potters.

He was thrust straight into action, having been named in Under 23 starting XI against Norwich at St Georges Park mere hours after signing. And his debut could not have been more memorable.

Niakate, who plays as a left-back, registered an assist for the equalising goal 25 minutes in when he crossed for former Manchester City youth player Tyrese Campbell.

But his debut took a disastrous turn in the 39th minute when he was sent off kicking out an opponent whilst injured on the floor - meaning in less than four hours, he had signed, set up a goal and been sent off for violent conduct.

Here is Niakate's first day summarised in tweets:

He's made an impact, I guess - though 10-man Stoke then did go on to lose 3-1 to Norwich in the reserve game.

Commenting on the addition of Niakate when the deal was sealed, Academy Director Gareth Jennings said the following to the official Stoke City website:

"We are really pleased to have brought Moussa to the club and look forward to seeing him develop.

"He's been on trial with us for a while now which has given him time to get to know the club and he's really looking forward to getting started now that we have completed the formalities of his move."
