Someone Has Created A Website Where You Can Apologise To Portugal Hero Eder

When you think of potential match-winners in a Euro 2016 final when France and Portugal are locking horns, who do you think of? The likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Antoine Griezmann and Paul Pogba will spring to mind immediately, won't they?

But as we know, it was out-of-form Portugal substitute Eder who grabbed the headlines when he rifled in a low drive past Hugo Lloris in extra time. This was almost as unexpected as Iceland beating England in the Euro 2016 last 16, but that also happened.

The point being is that nobody expected Eder to be the hero, so much so that someone has created a website dedicated to him where people can submit their messages and apologise for doubting him.

When you've hopped onto http://www.desculpaeder.com/, unless you speak Portugese, you'll have to use the good old Google Translate to read the heartfelt messages. If you feel the need to apologise to the Swansea reject, then you can do.

If Portugal were playing football on the school playground, Eder was guaranteed to be the last pick by either of the captains. But he rose to the occasion and will go down in Portugese folklore for his stunning Euro 2016 final winner.

And now he has a website dedicated to him. What a story.
