Sergio Ramos Brilliantly Offers Manchester City Some Advice After Trophy Drop

The Premier League champions hadn't even been given the trophy yet and they were already treating it badly, at least wait till you're drunk!

Manchester City players were so excited to get their hands on the Premier League trophy that they accidentally knocked it off its plinth before Vincent Kompany had the chance to lift it above his head. Fortunately Sergio Ramos has some experience of damaging trophies.

When Manchester City have to give the Premier League trophy back to the league next season, before probably getting it back themselves, they'll be claiming 'it was like this when we got it' when someone questions the dent.

Of course they technically won't be wrong. As the players went up to get their medals on Sunday after the match against Huddersfield they celebrated Yaya Toure's medal with such vigour that Oleksandr Zinchenko accidentally knocked the trophy off the stage.

Fortunately an official was quick off the mark to pick it up on the first bounce and place it back where it belonged before Kompany was ready to lift it up. Of course it's not the first time a trophy has fallen, and previously it's been from a greater height.

In 2011 Real Madrid were celebrating winning the Copa del Rey, after beating Barcelona in the final, when the defender dropped the trophy during the bus parade. The bus drove over the trophy and it appeared to be flattened.

That experience for Ramos could come in handy after he hilariously responded to Ilkay Gundogan's cry for help:

Of course knocking the trophy a few foot off the ground onto the grass of the Etihad pitch wasn't quite on the scale of Ramos' slip up. Proof why Ramos was right to never pursue a career in goal.

If Zinchenko goes on to have half the career that Ramos has had even since dropping the Copa del Rey then he'll have done bloody well, and he'll have still got sent off a hell of a lot!
