Fans Joke That Liverpool Can Play Basketball Instead Of Training For Manchester United Game

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are in such a bad state right now that their fierce rivals don't even need to train for Sunday's match.

Liverpool are so superior to Manchester United that their players can have a game of pick-up basketball rather than train ahead of the two side's meeting on Sunday.

With derby games or matches between rivals the cliche 'you can throw the form guide out the window' often gets used but it feels that no amount of tension these games sometimes bring will lead to United beating Liverpool.

After just eight games there's already 15 points between the two teams in the Premier League with the Reds flying high having won every game.

Now fans are joking that Jurgen Klopp's team don't need to train, with even fans of the Red Devils joining in the jibes on Twitter.

Despite their recent struggles United haven't actually lost at Old Trafford to their since 2014, when David Moyes was in charge of the club.

Steven Gerrard scored two penalties and Luis Suarez scored late in the game to give Brendan Rodgers' team a 3-0 win.

Even last season Solskjaer's team managed to get a 0-0 draw against Klopp's men in Manchester, back in February, but that doesn't seem likely this season.

Of their four home games this season the 13 times Premier League winners have won only twice, drawing once and losing to Crystal Palace.

Liverpool have a perfect home and away record having beaten Southampton, Burnley, Chelsea and Sheffield United away from Anfield already this season.

United are likely to be without David de Gea, Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial for the game and don't look capable of springing an upset.

Solskjaer might prefer a game of basketball.
