Ribena Respond To James Milner's Big Night On The Juice

Ribena Respond To James Milner's Big Night On The Juice

The Liverpool man finally got his reply to the UK's best blackcurrant based drink, in our humble opinion.

James Milner made the headlines for all the right reasons after Liverpool beat Roma on Wednesday in the Champions League, and those right reasons were because of his love of Ribena.

Milner has been excellent this season, especially in the second half of it as Liverpool have gone through the knockout stages of the Champions League and qualified for the final, where they will face Real Madrid.

However his biggest contribution on the pitch in the second leg in Rome was actually through a hilarious own goal. The former Manchester City player didn't exactly do anything wrong and there was nothing he could do differently as Dejan Lovren thumped the ball into his face before it found the net.

But it wasn't the funniest think Milner did on the night, that was his post match interview about Ribena:

If that's not the greatest PR open goal that anyone's ever been handed then we don't know what it.

Someone on Ribena's social media team should have been straight on that replying but Wednesday night was met with radio silence and so was Thursday. Finally 36 hours after Milner's interview they've given us what we wanted:

If Milner isn't soon to be the new face of Ribena then one can't help but think that once again the people who possess the powers to make that happen will have missed out on a huge opportunity.

It'll be even better for the drink's reputation if the Premier League side are successful against Real Madrid later this month in Kyiv, hopefully someone has the Ribena on ice ready in Liverpool's changing room.

Milner has recently thrown off his reputation of being 'boring' and instead has used his former reputation to show his funny side both in interviews and on social media, in a real change of fortunes.

His form has also led to some wanting him to change the decision he made after Euro 2016 and come out of international retirement for the World Cup.

That doesn't look on the cards but maybe someone can change his mind by offering him a few crates of his favourite drink. You have the power guys at Ribena!
