RB Leipzig Respond In Brilliant Fashion To Liverpool's Loss To Watford

Jurgen Klopp's team's unbeaten run finally came to an end in Hertfordshire thanks to Watford's 3-0 win on Saturday evening.

Bundesliga Twitter continued it's reputation for excellent banter with RB Leipzig providing the perfect response to Liverpool's loss to Watford.

It looked like the Reds were going to go the whole season unbeaten and certainly no one expected relegation threatened Watford, who had failed to win in their previous five league games, to be the ones to beat them.

Leipzig showed their surprise by replying on Twitter to the news with a cheeky gif of their star striker Timo Werner looking shocked at something on his phone.

The response was perfect considering the timing as it comes just days after the striker was linked with a summer move to Anfield.

Werner, who has scored 21 goals in 23 appearances so far this season, has been heavily linked with a summer move to one of Europe's giants.

He has a £52 million release clause that can be activated until the end of April and rumours circulated earlier this week that the 23-year-old was ready to reject interest from Barcelona and Manchester United in favour of waiting for a bid from Jurgen Klopp's team.

Saturday was certainly an off day for Liverpool, who had gone over a year without defeat and had only previously dropped two points all season.

Nigel Pearson's team were better throughout and maybe thought they had wasted the chance to win when they failed to turn early chances into goals and Gerard Deulofeu was stretchered off at the end of the first half.

However Ismaila Sarr and Troy Deeney did the damage as they combined to score three second half goals to give Liverpool their first Premier League loss in 42 games.

It's certainly not panic stations just yet for Liverpool but after their Champions League loss to Atletico Madrid and Saturday's loss to Watford, Klopp will want his side to get back on track against Chelsea in the FA Cup on Tuesday.
