RB Leipzig rubbed salt into the wounds of Chelsea's FA Cup loss with a brilliant tweet about former player Timo Werner, who has joined the Blues for next season.

Chelsea were the favourites for the cup final on Saturday afternoon, and took the lead in just five minutes, but Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's brace shocked Frank Lampard's team.

There were no fans at Wembley but in the stands was Chelsea's latest signing Werner, who has joined from Leipzig for £47.5 million.

The German was spotted playing on his phone during the game, with the Blues 2-1 down, and it caused a bit of a stir on Twitter.

Despite the many replies and memes going viral it was actually the Bundesliga side, that Werner scored 95 times for in 159 appearances, who came up with the best response.

Christian Pulisic put Frank Lampard's side ahead early in the game but the Gunners' were level through a penalty from Aubameyang before half-time.

After the American went off injured for the Blues early in the second half life became more difficult for them and the Gabonese striker made it 2-1. Chelsea were unlucky to lose Mateo Kovacic to a sending off not long later and the game fizzled out.

Lampard did a good job in his first season in charge at Stamford Bridge, leading his side to an FA Cup final and finishing fourth in the league.

Werner, and Hakim Ziyech, both agreed their moves to west London before a top four place was confirmed and both will improve an already excellent attacking side.

Chelsea are expected to complete a move for Bayer Leverkusen ace Kai Havertz and after that they need to improve their defence.
