Mesut Ozil Likes Post Criticising Olivier Giroud's Poor Run Of Form

Does the German playmaker hold a grudge?

Mesut Ozil may have just been awarded Arsenal's Player Of The Year award for the 2015/16 season but the German's failure to break Thierry Henry's record for most assists recorded in a Premier League campaign is obviously still a source of frustration for him.

Ozil recorded 19 assists during his most impressive season in an Arsenal shirt, although it wasn't enough to lead the Gunners to their first Premier League title in 12 years. His total was one short of Thierry Henry's record yet the German looked on course to smash Henry's 20 assists, with 16 to his name by the new year.

One reason being attributed to Ozil's failure to smash the 20 mark is Olivier Giroud's complete lack of form during the second half of the campaign, with the French striker going 14 games without a goal, before hitting four goals in his last two matches.

Indeed, one Instagram account pointed the finger of blame in Giroud's direction and Ozil went ahead and liked the picture for good measure.

Whether or not Ozil is simply liking the photo as a laugh to troll his teammate or whether he genuinely is pissed off at missing out on the record when it seemed so likely he would break it remains to be seen, but with the German playmaker's contract talks currently on hold until after Euro 2016, it does seem as though the former Real Madrid man is far from happy with life in North London at the moment.
