These day Gary Lineker is known for three things, crisps, his brilliant use of Twitter and his love for Leicester City. And this evening he'll be hoping to combine two of them as a good omen to the future.

Once upon a time Gary Lineker was very close to being England's all time top goalscorer but nowadays he has just a successful career as Match of the Day's long term presenter as he did as a striker.

The Leicester City fan has a love of Walker's crisps, and the money they pay him, and of trolling people on Twitter that has seen him become pretty popular away from our screens as well.

His tweeting and love of Leicester infamously saw him present one episode of the weekly football highlights show in nothing but his underwear and now he's hoping his two loves combine again for more success.

After the Foxes tonight announced former Southampton manager Claude Puel as their new manager the former Everton and Spurs striker went for a very subtle joke about the appointment:

The reason it's such a good joke is because that's pretty much exactly what everyone's favourite FA Cup trophy lookalike, sorry Gary couldn't resist, said about Premier League winning manager Claudio Ranieri when he was appointed:

There were plenty of people who didn't get the joke of course:

If Lineker's tweets really are magic then maybe Leicester will be champions again. Then again, probably not!
