Roy Keane Claims David De Gea Is The Most Overrated Goalkeeper He's Seen

Roy Keane was 'fuming' at half time at both David de Gea and Harry Maguire, after they conspired to let Spurs open the scoring against Manchester United.
The former United midfielder, turned Sky Sports pundit, has never been one to bite his tongue about anything and Friday evening was no exception.
Keane was in the studio at half time of United's game against Spurs absolutely spitting feathers. Maguire's failure to cope with Steven Bergwijn's pace and De Gea letting the shot go through him had led to Jose Mourinho's side's lead at the break.
The Irishman claimed he was 'flabbergasted,' claimed he'd be throwing punches in the dressing room and called De Gea 'the most overrated goalkeeper he'd seen in a long time.'
"I am disgusted with it. Maguire? de Gea? Hang your heads in shame."

"I'd be swinging punches at that guy."
Roy Keane is absolutely FURIOUS at that Tottenham goal...:flushed: pic.twitter.com/fC97LLKHcf
Opposite him in the studio, fellow former United player Patrice Evra wasn't quite in agreement with a clearly angered Keane, who couldn't bring himself to do any actual punditry, much to the annoyance on some on Twitter.
Of course the fiery Irishman's reaction was cause all sorts of responses on social media.

Months of lockdown with no football, worth it for the absolute fury of Roy Keane at half time there.

If this half has ten goals it still won't beat that. A tour de force of punditry.
Yeah, I said it. A tour de force.

Roy Keane has offered to stay over in London and protect statues tomorrow. The Metropolitan Police have been told they can have day off.

Best bit of that was Evra thinking he might be able to cut the tension with a laugh only for Keane to shoot him a glance and Uncle Pat to shut up. An insight into the United dressing room of old

Project Restart factored in all the hazards bar an unleashed Roy Keane. Wow :flushed:

Before lockdown De Gea's form had returned somewhat and he had only conceded once in six games for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's team, whose form in general had seen them undefeated in 11 games.
However the error against Spurs, though followed soon after by an excellent save from a header inside the box, will once again raise questions about his future as United's number one.
Dean Henderson's excellent form on loan at Sheffield United this season has led some to call for the Englishman to take over from the Spaniard.
