Jose Mourinho Hilariously Calls Out Journalist At His Press Conference

Jose Mourinho isn't a man to mince his words or hide behind what's being said about in the press. Today the Manchester United manager responded to rumours about a conversation with Zinedine Zidane in perfect fashion.

Things aren't looking great for Jose Mourinho right now, and it's not because the Lowry Hotel have spotted him bringing his own plate to the breakfast buffet to fit more on the plate.

Manchester United's run of form right now is leaning towards wretched following Saturday's loss to West Ham, which was preceded by a penalty loss to Derby County and a draw with Wolves.

It has put Mourinho under pressure with the odds of him being the next manager to be sacked falling and rumours that Zinedine Zidane could be the manager the Red Devils turn to as Mourinho's replacement.

One English newspaper reported that Zizou had called the United boss and they discussed the fact that someone had been in contact with the Frenchman's representative to ask if he interested in the job.

When Jose was asked about the story in his pre match press conference for tomorrow night's Champions League game against Valencia he answered by telling the person to turn around and ask the journalist involved, which left Neil Custis looking rather sheepish:

Mourinho tells the journalist to simply turn around and ask Custis but the Englishman doesn't really say much before the former Real Madrid boss claims his phone must have been bugged if the paper know about his private phone calls.

It's not the first time that Custis has had a run in with a United boss. In 2016 the Dutchman was asked about criticism of Wayne Rooney and replied saying, "We don't speak about Wayne Rooney, you have criticised him. I don't - you!," before pointing at the journalist saying, "You too, fat man".

Jose will be hoping that the midweek game against Valencia can give him some respite from domestic woes.

The Red Devils got their Champions League campaign off to a good start by beating Young Boys whilst the La Liga side lost to Juventus despite Cristiano Ronaldo's sending off.

United will really want a 100% record going into the double header with Juve and need some momentum before the next international break next week.

Will Mourinho lose his job?
