Thierry Henry announced yesterday that he will no longer be a pundit on Sky Sports, after deciding to concentrate on trying to become a manager. His former colleague Jamie Carragher said goodbye in the only way he could.

It was the World Cup in Brazil four years ago when Thierry Henry first became a pundit on BBC and impressed a lot of people with his input, earning himself a job at Sky Sports later that year once he'd retired from New York Red Bulls.

Ever since then the Frenchman has been a regular in the studio whenever Sky have been showing a game, apart from a Monday of course which is usually the domain of Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher alone.

Two years ago Henry was hired by newly appointed Belgium manager Roberto Martinez to be his assistant manager. That led the former Arsenal forward to split his time between the two roles, although they didn't exactly clash.

Henry helped Belgium reach the semi-finals of the World Cup and they finished third in the tournament after beating England last Saturday.

Yesterday the 40 year old announced that he'd be quitting Sky Sports to continue his dream of becoming a manager and former colleague Jamie Carragher has said goodbye in a perfect way:

The picture is from Henry's most infamous moment as a pundit, possibly the most infamous moment of his career including when he played...

It came when Brendan Rodgers' sacking from Liverpool was announced in the studio, seemingly out of nowhere, and Henry's response was to put his hand on Carragher's leg, kicking off brilliant memes.

Carragher was off the air himself the back end of last season, after the incident that led to him spitting at a fan following Liverpool's loss to Manchester United, but his suspension has been lifted for next season.

We look forward to having the former Liverpool defender back on our screens but it's a shame Henry won't be with him.

How far do you think he can go in his managerial career?
