Good banter from the Arsenal man...

Jack Wilshere has taken a little bit of a pop at Gary Neville by criticising the now-retired right-back's defending in a clip 20 years ago.

Wilshere and Neville have worked together closely in the English national set-up, so they'll definitely know each other pretty well, and we're willing to go out on a limb and suggest that it's usually Neville handing out the pointers.

But Wilshere got his own back today as he watched highlights of a classic Manchester United vs Liverpool match from the comfort of his couch.

In the game, a 20-year-old Neville was thrown to one side by a 20-year-old Robbie Fowler, who proceeded to slam the ball past a helpless and shocked Peter Schmeichel.

The game that day ended in a draw, but as Wilshere says, United could've had all three points if Neville had just been a touch stronger:

To be fair, Gary, if you're going to dish it out, you need to know how to take it too! Some finish from Fowler, as well!

As for Wilshere, he completed 90 minutes in an Arsenal shirt for the first time in three years on Wednesday, when the Gunners beat League One side Doncaster Rovers 1-0 at the Emirates, courtesy of a first-half strike from Theo Walcott.

Wilshere, heavily linked with a move away in the summer, churned in an extremely impressive performance, dictating the tempo of the game and looking at home in the middle of the park.

Club captain Per Mertesacker hailed his performance, telling Evening Standard.:

"It was very good to have him back.

"You can see that he's getting more comfortable with his position now. He's brave now and he trusts his body. That's the most important thing, that he's capable of playing 90 minutes.

"He will just grow with that and he was vocal as well, which was important for us, especially at the end. He kept the ball well in tight situations and to come out of that is vintage Jack. That's what we want to see from him in the future here at Arsenal."

Wilshere's display also went down well with Arsenal supporters, who liked what they saw from the 25-year old, even if it was Doncaster Rovers they were playing against.
