Frank De Boer Hilariously Trolls Himself On Social Media

Frank De Boer Hilariously Trolls Himself On Social Media

The former Crystal Palace manager was sacked after just four games in the Premier League but at least he can laugh about it...

Frank de Boer didn't exactly get to enjoy his time in England, it was more of a stressful holiday than a chance at a life in the Premier League after being sacked following just four games. But he clearly sees the lighter side to his tenure.

In the summer Sam Allardyce suddenly decided that managing was no longer for him and stepped down as manager of Crystal Palace, retiring from management in the process, less than a year after getting the England job and being sacked from it.

That left Palace in a bit of a tizz over who would replace him as they couldn't have expected the need to. Eventually they decided to go for someone whose style of football would be the polar opposite of Allardyce's in Frank de Boer.

With a whole new direction and 'philosophy' they'd obviously give the new man time, right? Four games, four losses and no goals later the Dutchman was sacked and replaced by Roy Hodgson.

So it would be understandable if the 47 year old was bitter and twisted about his time in England. But instead, posting about his daughter heading off to university in England, he managed to show humour with the incredible hashtag '#longerthanherdaddy' in reference to how long she'll be studying there:

De Boer saw his team lose to Huddersfield Town, Liverpool, Swansea City and Burnley in the league, although they did beat Ipswich Town in the Carabao Cup, before he was dismissed.

He lasted just 78 days in his job at Selhurst Park and the former Ajax, Barcelona and Rangers player is getting used to short stints having only been in charge for 85 days at Inter Milan last season.

Life under former England manager Roy Hodgson didn't exactly start the way that Palace fans would have been hoping for as they crashed to another defeat without a goal, losing 1-0 to Southampton.

De Boer can now sit back and relax with a nice payout and one of the kids out of the house, it's not actually been a bad couple of weeks for him!
