Former Barcelona President Trolls Cristiano Ronaldo

Former Barcelona President Trolls Cristiano Ronaldo

Bravo!

You know a rivalry is really serious when it's played out on social media amongst a bunch of emojis and memes. Throwing a pig's head on the pitch? That means nothing in this world of multimedia warfare. The latest part of the El Clasico rivalry is brilliant...

Barcelona players especially like to wind their Real Madrid counterparts up on social media and in interviews, no more so than Gerard Pique, but it's obviously not all one sided. Two weekends ago when Lionel Messi passed his penalty for Luis Suarez to score Cristiano Ronaldo rather mysteriously said "I know why Leo took that penalty like that. And I'm not saying anything more."

The theory was that CR7 was suggesting that Barcelona are trying to get Suarez the La Liga top goalscorer award so he joins Neymar and Messi in the Ballon d'Or top three. After the Real Madrid star missed a penalty in yesterday's 1-1 draw against Malaga former Barca president Joan Laporta posted a Ronaldo meme that read "I know why I missed the penalty, but I'm not gonna say it," talk about sticking the boot in:

Sabeu per què el Xavier Sala-i-Martín ha piulat aquesta foto? :) :) :)

Now that's how 53 year-olds should use Facebook. None of that posting "We haven't heard from you in ages" nonsense that you keep posting on my wall dad!

We can't wait till Laporta leaves his Facebook logged in when he's lent the Portuguese forward his phone...
