Fan Brilliantly Pranks Neighbours Who Are Watching Euro 2020 Game On Delayed Stream

The greatest football troll of the year.

A Dutch football fan has fiendishly trolled his neighbours as they watched a Euro 2020 game with a 30-second delay by reacting to supposed goals and events - even if they didn't happen.

A group of Netherlands fans were watching the Oranje take on Austria with a big screen in their garden. The ideal set-up - except for the fact they had a delay on their live stream.

Heartless neighbour Carlos van Erven and his pals, watching in real time in a flat just above, saw an opportunity to taunt them. Mainly by frantically celebrating goals... that were in reality shots flying off target

Van Erven's heartless scheme was particularly, devastatingly, effective at one particular moment. Namely when Memphis Depay blazed wide against the Austrians when it looked easier to score.

As soon as Depay's shot flew wildly off target, Van Erven and his mates began leaping around and screaming in delight through the window.

The disgruntled fans down below, way behind the action, threw him a boo and even a classic middle-finger salute.

However when the action on their big screen caught up, the fans at least were ready for the "goal", getting up on their feet and ready to celebrate - literally punching the air. Before Depay shockingly skied his shot.

Cue absolutely raucous laughter from the prankster and his pals as their dastardly plan worked an absolute treat.

Commenting on Twitter, one viewer said: "Haha that's perfect prank. That miss though."

Another said: "That's unreal banter lmaoo," while a third wrote: "That is some epic trolling."

Too true. At least it was a happy ending for all of the Dutch fans as they did get to celebrate two actual goals, with Depay's early penalty and a second-half strike from Denzel Dumfries giving the Netherlands a 2-0 win.

But we wouldn't be surprised if those garden-dwelling Oranje fans literally never trust another human again in their life after that frankly evil trolling.
