Charlie Adam should be everyone's hero. The bloke looks like a plasterer who happened upon a career in football because he plastered the walls of a football league club chairman who didn't have enough cash to pay him for the job so offered him a squad number to make up the difference.
Every now and again the 56-year-old produces something wondrous like a luxurious free kick, whipped straight into the top corner or a 60 yard goal from inside his own half, performed with all the effort of a pissed up bloke kicking a fag packet into the grate.
But, for the majority of his Premier League career, Charlie Adam has left us wondering if a building site is missing a labourer. And nowhere was this more evident than at Turf Moor tonight when Adam produced THE defining moment of the Premier League season.
