Manchester United Fan Left To Regret Tweet After Dramatic Comeback

The fan saw his social media post go viral after Jose Mourinho's men saw a 2-0 deficit turn into a 3-2 win after Alexis Sanchez' late goal.

There wouldn't have been many who expected Manchester United and Jose Mourinho to turn things around when Newcastle United went 2-0 up on Saturday. One fan has gone viral after he proved just how little hope he had.

Manchester United trailing 2-0 at Old Trafford has never really made anyone stand up and take notice. These days it's because it happens more often than anyone would have previously thought possible but in the past it was just because you assumed they'd come back and win anyway.

When Newcastle United scored two early goals against Jose Mourinho's side on Saturday evening the main reason it led to raised eyebrows was because of the rumours that Mourinho would be sacked.

The Red Devils looked all over the place in that first half but in the second half they were inspired in attack and laid siege to the Magpies half before goals from Juan Mata, Anthony Martial and finally Alexis Sanchez gave them a 3-2 win.

The atmosphere inside the ground was dead early on but as United attacked more and more and got closer to the win it really went up a notch before euphoria at Sanchez's goal.

One fan though certainly didn't get to enjoy the crowd going wild after Dave Potts tweeted that he'd left before half-time, the replies didn't disappoint:

Dave failed to return to Twitter after United won. Part of me likes to imagine he went straight home, didn't check the internet the rest of the day or watch Match of the Day because he was so annoyed so is still living in a world where his team lost.

In fairness to Dave it's not like United have ever had a reputation for comebacks and late goals...

Mourinho's side haven't looked capable of these types of comeback in recent times but even they have previous having saved a similar position away in the Manchester derby last season.

We've all had decisiobackfireire on us like Dave, just most of the time they don't go viral on social media, poor guy.
