WATCH: Ball For Portuguese Cup Final Delivered by Mad Bastard On A Hoverboard

Well that's different...

The Portuguese Cup final earlier today saw something we've never seen before.

In an all kinds of bonkers turn of events before the game, some crazy bastard on a real life hoverboard was responsible for handing the ball to referee and allowing him to get the game under way.

Fair play to those in Portugal deciding to mix things up big time for the big curtain-closer. Why have the plain old passing off the ball when you can draft in this nutter, who is more than happy to fly about on his hoverboard with the ball under his arm. He's absolutely in his element.

Being honest, I still genuinely can't believe this happened but reckon every single football federation across the world should introduce it.

It's a real shame that the FA Cup final didn't feature it (maybe our mate here wasn't available), but this has really given UEFA a cracking idea for the upcoming Champions League final in Cardiff.

In terms of the actual cup final, the 'Taca de Portugal' was played out between Benfica and Vitória Guimarães.

Benfica's 2-1 win, courtesy of goals from Raul Jimenez and Eduardo Salvio in a rapid onslaught just after half-time, means they finish the season with the double, having already sealed the league title earlier this month.

The game looks to have been the final appearance for the Eagles goalkeeper Ederson, who is set to become the world's most expensive goalkeeper should sign for Manchester City as expected.

Sky Sports are now reporting that City are in 'advanced talks' to sign the 23-year old.

£45 million is the sum being talked about, which would make the move a record fee for a goalkeeper.

The £32.6 million Juventus paid Parma to land Gianluigi Buffon in 2001 remains the most expensive fee paid for a shotstopper.

Further reports on the Ederson deal can be found in the following Tweets from popular Manchester City account/website City Watch.

Whatever the fee that is eventually paid for the Brazilian, 50% will be owed to Rio Ave, with 20% of Ave's share subsequently owed to Gestifute, who just so happen to be owned by super agent Jorge Mendes.
