The American Kenny Miller has quit Twitter days after Rangers fans confused him for their star striker.

The Scottish Miller was the hero at Ibrox on Saturday as he scored twice late on to send Rangers into the fifth round of the Scottish Cup courtesy of a 2-1 win over Motherwell.

He's not on social media - but some forgot that, sending tweets to @KennyMiller17 - the US Miller - to congratulate him on the win.

This didn't go unnoticed to the American Miller, who was quick to clarify that he isn't the Rangers striker:

As you can see, those tweets proved very popular - with this Miller then going on to add some more tweets, actually endearing himself to the Rangers fans, who were loving him.

But, sadly, he's decided enough is enough - and removed himself from Twitter.

If you search for @KennyMiller17 on Twitter now, you'll see this:

And fans are devastated that their new social media hero is no longer around.
