WATCH: Fernandinho Gives Albrighton A Black Eye After Vicious Elbow

Manchester City's 2-1 victory over Leicester City today was rife with noteworthy moments; Should David Silva's opening goal have stood? How funny was Riyad Mahrez's disallowed penalty? And how did Fernandinho stay on the pitch after elbowing Marc Albrighton into next week?
The Brazilian somehow escaped a red card for his assault on the Leicester City midfielder in the second half, which left Albrighton looking like he'd just gone 10 rounds with Anthony Joshua.

Bobbby Madley, despite noticing later in the match that Riyad Mahrez had actually struck the ball twice as he took his penalty, somehow failed to spot Fernandinho's MMA style battery of Albrighton's face. Unsurprisingly, the decision to allow the Brazilian midfielder to remain on the pitch did not go down too well with fans on social media.
Fernandinho should be off, but imagine Madley missing a crucial decision...

@FA so when Fellaini does what Fernandinho does, its a red card and a season ban, but if Fernandinho does it, its ok... disgusting! #MCILEI

Bobby Madely sees that extra touch on the pen but can't see an offside for city goal & Fernandinho elbow, that's really "strange"

Fernandinho has to be closing in on Fellaini for the most elbows gone unpunished in the league.

@premierleague While you're at it, can you explain how Man City's first goal stood & how Fernandinho wasn't sent off for his deliberate elbow?

Despite a late flurry of attacks, Leicester couldn't find an equaliser as City ran out 2-1 winners in today's early kick off.
