Andy Carroll Trying Cheeky Tactic As He Hopes For Chelsea Move

Andy Carroll Trying Cheeky Tactic As He Hopes For Chelsea Move

The striker is a surprise target for the Blues and he's trying to make the move happen.

Andy Carroll to Chelsea is still perplexing and amusing me on every level, surely it couldn't actually happen. Well the Hammers forward is trying one devilish tactic to help the move go through.

It took Michy Batshuayi's 55th minute strike against Norwich in the FA Cup third round replay between the two sides on Wednesday night to end over five hours without a goal for Chelsea and that was only enough for them to go to penalties.

Antonio Conte's side are very short of goals right now. Alvaro Morata started the season extremely well however he hasn't scored for seven games, stretching back to his Boxing Day goal against Brighton.

Check out our brief chat with Ashley Cole:

Despite Batshuayi's goal last night there's no doubt that Conte doesn't fancy him so a new striker is top of his wanted list but that doesn't stop links to Andy Carroll being surprising at best.

According to the Mirror it sounds like Carroll is trying not to pick up any injuries by pretending to be injured, genius! The paper reports that Carroll has refused to train, sighting an ankle injury, but it apparently doesn't exist with scans showing nothing.

Speaking about Carroll's potential move on Tuesday night, after his side's own FA Cup replay, David Moyes even referenced the former Liverpool front man's injury, saying, "Chelsea have not made contact with me.

"If they have made contact with someone else, I don't know about it. At the moment Andy has an ankle injury. He had an injection 10 days ago and we're hoping he will be training soon."

The rumours are that Chelsea want to take the 29 year old on loan, at least initially, but the Hammers will only let him go on a transfer, wanting £20 million for their player.

What if Chelsea had never come into all that money?

Injuries have obviously blighted the former Newcastle United striker's career and so far this term he's only started seven games for West Ham, making another five off the bench, and scored two goals.

There's no doubt that Conte's side need another striker but is Carroll the player they should be signing?
