Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho seemed to get away with an elbow to Adam Clayton's face against Middlesbrough today and opposition fans weren't too happy.

The only big news from the Manchester derby was Marouane Fellaini getting sent off for the most ridiculous and stupid of headbutts from the Manchester United player.

It's not the first time that the United midfielder has done something stupid, this season's handball against Everton instantly comes to mind.

The Belgian is often criticised for the use of his elbows against oppositions players but today it was one of his opponents from Thursday that came under fire for the use of his elbows.

Manchester City's Fernandinho seemingly planted his elbow in Middlesbrough player Adam Clayton's face but got away without a caution, a decision that wasn't popular:

It doesn't look like any retrospective action will be taken as the referee must have been able to see the incident based on where he is during the clip.

How lucky was Fernandinho?
