Cesc Fabregas was sent off in Chelsea's International Champions Cup game with Liverpool for an awful tackle on Ragnar Klavan.
The game at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena was filled with harsh decisions from referee Baldomero Toledo, who handed out four yellow cards in the first-half despite it being a friendly.
He kept up the punishment in the second period - but Fabregas and Chelsea can have no complaints about the Spaniard's sending off. It came in the 70th minute when Klavan and Fabregas went for a 50-50 in the middle of the park.

The new Liverpool signing got their well ahead of his opponent, but ended up taking a sore one on the foot and the American referee was immediate in dishing out the red - to the shock of many inside the Rose Bowl:
We're not sure why Fabregas thought going in so strong and so late on Klavan would be a good idea - especially with this referee's previous.
It means Chelsea are down to 10 men for the remainder of the game and that will make it even tougher for them to hold on to their 1-0 lead, given to them courtesy of Gary Cahill's 10th-minute header.

As for Fabregas, he may find himself punished competitively for Chelsea as a result of the red card - something which will no doubt be determined by the FA before their season opener against West Ham on August 15th.
