Luke Shaw Social Media Activity Before Kick Off Won't Please Jose Mourinho

Manchester United's left back isn't available for selection against Liverpool because of his injury but he was still busy on social media.

Manchester United's Luke Shaw might not have been in the starting line up against Liverpool on Sunday in the Premier League but the left back has still made headlines because of social media.

Luke Shaw has come a long way in such a short time. For a while it looked very much like he would never fulfil his potential at Manchester United. Fitness and form were two big reasons but it was also because of a falling out with Jose Mourinho.

Even when the left back played well the manager found a way to criticise him. This season things have totally turned around, Shaw's earned himself a new deal and is now one of the team's best performer's, not that it's too much of a compliment these days.

Mourinho though has hardly lost his penchant for falling out with players and Antonio Valencia has found his spot in the team taken not long after being caught liking a tweet about Mourinho, which the Ecuadorian apologised for.

With that in mind and with previous experience of falling out with Mourinho then it might not be the smartest thing for Shaw to be caught liking a tweet that suggests criticism of the former Real Madrid manager.

Some fans caught exactly that though with a tweet being liked about the starting XI for the Liverpool game:

Of course Shaw may well have liked the tweet accidentally and he's since unliked it so it's all much ado about nothing but as soon as people notice something it hits the news.

And the former Southampton man isn't the first player to be caught liking things to do with United this week. Toby Alderweireld was the talk of the town because of his transfer links with the Red Devils.

Alderweireld poured oil on the flames on Friday when one United account spotted that he'd liked a post on Twitter linking him with the move, he's since unliked it:

Of course it could just be that the 29 year old just really likes the idea of Kalidou Koulibaly moving to Old Trafford or possibly Spurs teammate Danny Rose, both of whom were included in the tweet.

United's most recent January transfer was last season's move for Alexis Sanchez and it's fair to say that didn't go too well but based on their current defensive problems it's unlikely any signing would be worse than what they've currently got.

Alderweireld has started 14 of Spurs 16 Premier League games this season and Mauricio Pochettino's side currently sit three places and 10 points above Mourinho's.

Would he swap third for sixth in January or was it just an acc
