Gareth Bale Left The Bernabeu Before Full Time On Thursday Night

Real Madrid nearly completed a remarkable comeback after Bale's departure, scoring twice in nine minutes with the Welshman in his car.

Gareth Bale was pictured leaving the Bernabeu in the 82nd minute of Real Madrid's loss to Real Sociedad on Thursday night, with Los Blancos scoring twice after he left.

The Welshman has never enjoyed the best relationship with fans since moving to Madrid and being spotted leaving the ground with the team 4-1 down in unlikely to go down well.

He was pictured exiting the Bernabeu in his car by Spanish outlet AS with eight minutes of normal time remaining, with Rodrygo and Nacho scoring after he'd left the ground.

Bale was not picked in the squad for the Copa del Rey game, for the second match in a row having also missed out on the Madrid derby at the weekend, and made a hasty exit.

Players not picked in the 18 man squad are allowed to leave the stadium in the 80th minute so he must have had to make a very quick run from his seat in the stands to his car to be photographed leaving the stadium just two minutes later.

The Welshman has been photographed leaving early on occasion before, with one occasion last year coming in the 78th minute, which was also against Sociedad.

The former Spurs winger has been linked with a move away from Los Blancos several times in recent years and has fallen out with manager Zinedine Zidane in the past.

Last summer he was set for a move to China before club president Florentino Perez pulled the move, with the 30-year-old then fighting his way back into the first team.

He has still only started nine La Liga games this season and has missed the last four games through injury and being left out by the manager.

In January the Welshman was once again linked with a move away from Spain, this time with former side Spurs reportedly interested.

Daniel Levy is said to have spoken to Real about the deal and was confident he could make the move happen but once again it failed to come to fruition.

Without the winger on Thursday Zidane's side were knocked out of the Copa del Rey, on the same night rivals Barcelona were.

Real loanee Martin Odegaard was amongst the scorers as Sociedad opened up a 4-1 lead before the two late goals for the La Liga leaders that Bale was in his car for.
