Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang missed out on his club's third home defeat in a row on Friday night after being suspended by his club and it was all down to filming with a freestyler sponsored by one of their rivals.

Gabon and Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is one of football's biggest names, sorry I mean longest names but he is a bloody good footballer too.

The last thing that most clubs would want to do is have to suspend one of their best players because of disciplinary reasons but that's exactly what Dortmund did ahead of their Friday night game against Stuttgart:

Last year the forward had been suspended for a non authorised trip to Milan ahead of a Champions League game against Sporting and it was thought that this time it was because he missed training three times this week.

But the player told Bild, "I didn't turn up late for training. After my trip to Milan I could understand my suspension because I ignored an announcement that time. This time I really can't understand it."

Another claim was that he was suspended for going to Barcelona to visit Ousmane Dembele but the players quote also seems to rule that out.

So why was he suspended then?

Well according to German newspaper Kicker it's all because he had a video shoot with freestyler Sean Garnier at the club's training ground. As well as this being done without permission the other problem is that Garnier is sponsored by Red Bull, who of course own Dortmund rivals RB Leipzig:

Apparently only club athletes are allowed in at the athletics hall without permission being granted and the club don't approve any guests two days before a game as preparation to matches gets more intense.

The decision didn't work out for the club as for the first time in three years they lost three home games in a row:

Aubameyang should probably come back into the side soon but with the 28 year-old often talking about leaving the Westfalenstadion and him being disciplined for the second time in a year it could see the end of his time at Dortmund.

What will happen to the player?
