Danny Drinkwater's Loan To Aston Villa Could Be Over After Training Ground Bust Up

The midfielder on loan from Chelsea was in trouble earlier in the season when he was involved in an incident in a Manchester nightclub.

Aston Villa are reportedly considering cutting Danny Drinkwater's loan spell with them short after reports that he was involved in a training ground bust up with teammate Jota, with claims he headbutted the midfielder.

Drinkwater joined Villa during the January transfer window, after his temporary deal with Burnley wasn't extended, and has played just four games for Dean Smith's team so far.

He may not play again with Daily Mail reporting that he headbutted teammate Jota during a training ground spat on Tuesday during an 'angry exchange.'

Club officials are apparently 'seriously considering' ending his six month loan early and talks took place with Chelsea's hierarchy on Tuesday, although no decision has been made about the former Leicester City midfielder's immediate future.

Whether or not he is sent back to Stamford Bridge, where he is unlikely to be used at all before the end of the season, Drinkwater will face disciplinary action from Villa. At very least he would be subjected to a fine.

The 30-year-old last played for Smith's team in the 3-2 loss to Spurs on February 16th and his form for the relegation threatened club hasn't been good.

It's not the first time this season that the Premier League winner has been in trouble off the pitch in the midst of things not going well on the pitch.

He joined Burnley on a temporary deal at the beginning of the season but made just two appearances, with his only start in the league the Claret's 4-1 home defeat to Manchester City at the beginning of December.

Away from playing he was in trouble in September when he was involved in an incident inside a nightclub in Manchester.

The England midfielder was thrown out of Chinawhite nightclub on Deansgate by security and was attacked by six people outside of the club. The 'thugs' reportedly chanted 'break his legs' as they jumped him.

Drinkwater's move to Chelsea in 2017 has never worked for him and he made just 12 appearances in the league in 2017-18 season.

He hasn't played in the league for them since, only appearing in the 2018 Community Shield against Manchester City.

The latest indiscretion is just the latest bleak moment in his career.
