Dani Alves Sends Disrespectful Message To Referee After Sending Off

The PSG right back was only going to be booked until he got in the refs face and turned yellow into red.

PSG's loss against Lyon was hardly the kind of result that will put their reclaiming of the Ligue 1 title in doubt. However one black spot did mark the game after Dani Alves was sent off. Now he's doubled down with a stupid message to the ref.

Last season PSG didn't manage to win the French league for the first time in five years as Monaco won Ligue 1. This season it was always going to be back to business as usual.

The capital side strengthened with the ridiculous double signing of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe up front, adding to their already stella list of attacking players, meanwhile Monaco lost most of their best players.

So it came as a surprise to literally no one when they built an 11 point gap between themselves and second place Lyon this season. On Sunday the 'chasers' managed a 2-1 win thanks to Memphis Depay's goal.

The big moment in the game, before Depay's 94th minute winner, was when Dani Alves was sent off. The full back was to be booked for a challenge but his reaction led to a sending off. Now he's doubled down by sending a classless message to the ref on Instagram:

"Decisions were taken, the battle was already lost, but I continue to think that Mr Referee lost his way with this decision. Since when has disagreeing equalled a lack of respect.

"If you want to say that it was my fault, you can, that is free, and, likewise I have shoulders that are considerably large and a pair of balls that ensure I am always standing upright."

There was no doubt that the yellow card was 100% justified and running up to the ref and screaming in his face should always equal a red so the former Barca man only has himself to blame.

Whether the Instagram post will mean an even longer ban is questionable but it would certainly serve him right.
