The PSG winger wasn't the only one whose house was broken into, with teammate Marquinhos' family home also a victim.

Angel di Maria's house had over €500,000 of jewelry robbed from his house on Sunday night, whilst teammate Marquinhos had cash stolen from his family home.

PSG hosted Nantes on Sunday night with the chance to go top of Ligue 1, after leaders Lille had drawn 0-0 with Monaco earlier in the game.

There was confusion when Sporting Director Leonardo spoke to manager Mauricio Pochettino early in the second half and the manager then subbed Di Maria off.

It was later revealed that it was due to the club finding out that his family home had been broken into, whilst his wife and daughter were at home.

According to RMC, the thieves broke into the house via the basement gym and took an elevator up to the second floor where they removed a safe.

The Argentina winger's family did not come in contact with the robbers, as they were on the ground floor, but were understandably left 'shocked.'

The safe contained jewelry and watches worth 'over 500,000 euros' and the keys were reportedly left in the safe, meaning entry into it wasn't an issue.

Marquinhos' house had €2,000 in cash stolen but also three bags of unnamed items, thought to be worth '10,000s of Euros.'

Things didn't go as 'smoothly' for his family either with things at the Brazilian's house reportedly turning violent during the break in.

During the half hour robbery, his dad and the player's sisters were locked in a room and his father was 'roughed up.'

Other reports have claimed that there were 'blows to the thorax and head,' although none of the defender's family are thought to have suffered serious injuries.

It is felt that the two robberies could not have taken place at the same time because they took place at too similar a time but there is certainly a connection between the players.

Di Maria's house was also broken into when he lived in Manchester during his time as a Manchester United player.

During that time there were reports that the break in had left him, and his family, shaken and led to him leaving England after just one season in the Premier League.

PSG failed to win the game, despite taking the lead, with Nantes equalising in the 59th minute and scoring the winner after Di Maria had left the Parc des Princes.
