Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira has replied to criticism from his own fans in the classiest way possible, telling them he will 'stay and fight' for his place.

The 24-year-old has been at United for nine years, after joining as a teenager, but is only in his second season as a regular for the first team.

He has come under criticism for his performances, even from his manager, and replied to people commenting on his recent Facebook post, including from one telling him to 'find a new club.'

The Belgian born Brazilian wasn't even included in the squad for Sunday's win over Watford. Asked why he, and fellow under fire midfielder Jesse Lingard, missed out manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said, "We picked a squad of 18 that we felt was the right 18 here.

"We have got cover on the bench with wide men, forwards, midfielders, & defenders so that was the decision I made."

Pereira has made 18 league starts for Solskjaer's side this season but has only scored one goal and made three assists for his team.

The former Valencia loanee came on as a substitute in the game against Chelsea last week before starting the 1-1 draw away to Club Brugge in the Europa League on Thursday.

He'll hope to be in the team for the home leg this evening and attempt to force his way back into Solskjaer's plans.

The manager has been pretty ruthless when it comes to getting rid of players he doesn't feel meet the standard and United are expected to invest heavily again in the summer, meaning the midfielder's future at Old Trafford could come in for serious questioning.
