Newcastle 'Eyeing' £25 Million Move For Real Madrid Legend, He'd Completely Transform Them

This would be huge for not just Newcastle, but the Premier League in general.

Newcastle United are interested in making Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos the first lucrative signing under their Saudi Arabian ownership.

The Magpies are ready to spend big and have the potential to be one of the richest clubs in world football.

Despite being 19th in the Premier League and winless all season, it seems they're ready to go big as soon as possible.

El Nacional have reported Newcastle are ready to make Germany international Kroos one of their key targets.

Newcastle haven't won a major trophy for 66 years and they think Kroos would be important to a 'winning project'.

The 31-year-old has won league titles with Bayern Munich and Real Madrid as well as the Champions League four times.

He helped Germany to World Cup glory in 2014 before retiring from international duty earlier this year.

Kroos is still an important part of the 'Los Blancos' side and regularly played alongside Luka Modrid and Casemiro last season.

He's played three times this campaign so far due to injury, but featured in El Clasico victory over Barcelona last weekend.

Other names Newcastle have been linked with in recent days include Watford winger Ismaila Sarr and Porto forward Luis Diaz.

Next on their agenda will be a new manager after sacking Steve Bruce earlier this month.

Bruce was dismissed following a 3-2 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur, his 1000th game in charge.

Graeme Jones is currently in charge on an interim basis and oversaw last week's 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace.

A new manager is expected to be appointed before the international break and Jones will be talking with the owners after Saturdays clash with Chelsea.

"I'll have a chat with the owners and see where we are. No more than that and take it from there," Jones said per Sky Sports.

"I think our job here, right now, is to make this football club as united as it possibly can be for the next manager that's coming.

"We're a point better off than last week and obviously after tomorrow's game we'll see where we are, but the new guy needs to walk into a really healthy football club.

"With 52,000 people, plus 20 players and staff pulling in the same direction and that's my target."

Who do you think Newcastle's first big-money buy will be?
