Punter Rakes In £20,000 After Impossible £5 Football Bet Comes Off

One punter won just under £20,000 on a spectacular £5 bet involving only TWO football matches on Sunday.

Aaron Ross Milligan earned precisely £19,880 as his genius seven-part bet involving Southampton vs Tottenham and Rangers vs Hibs incredibly came off.

'Mystic Milligan' needed Harry Kane and Scott Arfield to score anytime, both teams to score in Tottenham vs Saints, plus four individual bookings to come off. Remarkably, it all came together - though not without some stomach-churning drama.

In particular, the Premier League match must've caused Milligan some agony. Oriol Romeu was booked early on for a nasty foul, while both teams scored in the first half, which was good news.

But Kane had to score for the bet to prove a winner - and the striker agonisingly had two finishes ruled out for offside, while generously setting up Son Heung-min for all four of his goals.

So Milligan must've been tearing his hair out until, with the game meandering to a finish, Kane tapped in in the 82nd minute to make the scoreline 5-1 to Spurs.

We reckon the Milligan household celebrated that moment more than Kane himself, as it was the final element of his seven-part bet to come in (Matt Doherty having been booked just a few minutes earlier). Well done for holding your nerve and not trying to cash out, Aaron.

Especially as Milligan cunningly put together the bet-builder punt himself with Bet365, so it's all skill on this one. A goal from Rangers' Arfield and bookings for Hibs' defensive duo Paul McGinn and Paul Hanlon all came in during Sunday's midday kick-off in Scotland, which ended in a 2-2 draw.

Twitter was naturally awash with congratulations/cynicism at such a stunning bet coming off.

We hope Sunday night was a fun one for the newly minted Milligan. Next time feel free to share any crazy £5 punts before you win, so we can copy your magnificent homework.
