Olivier Giroud scored four times, including a perfect hat trick, on Wednesday night to help Chelsea defeat Sevilla in the Champions League.

The Frenchman hadn't started in the Premier League or Champions League this season until the clash, and clearly went out with something to prove to manager Frank Lampard.

Not only did the 34-year-old net a perfect hat trick, but in doing so he became the oldest player to score three in one game in the Champions League/European Cup since Ferenc Puskas.

Not ony that, he also joined Didier Drogba become the only the second Chelsea player to score a hat trick in the Champions League.

Giroud started off with some quick footwork and curling left-footed finish after a great team build-up from front to back by the Blues - including a driving run from new signing Kai Havertz.

Next up was a neat chip over the keeper after a well-timed run.

Then he finished up with a glancing header to put in a great cross from N'Golo Kante.

Lampard may have to give the World Cup winner a go in the Premier League after this performance, with rival Timo Werner not having hit the back of the net for Chelsea since 4 November v Rennes
