Trent Alexander-Arnold scored a stunning goal for Liverpool in the big game against Chelsea this afternoon.

Liverpool won a free-kick just outside the Chelsea box and it looked like Mohamed Salah was stepping up to take it.

The Egyptian instead rolled the ball back to Alexander-Arnold who unleashed a first time scorcher that bent past Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Check out the strike below.

It was Trent's first goal since November 2018 and it gave Liverpool an early lead.

Chelsea have had chances in the game with Tammy Abraham firing straight at Adrian and have even had a goal ruled out by VAR.

Cesar Azpilicueta thought he'd equalised for Frank Lampard's side after sliding the ball past the Liverpool keeper.

However, VAR ruled that Mason Mount was offside earlier in the play to take the goal from Chelsea.

Moments later, Liverpool doubled their lead.

It came from another set piece as Andy Robertson bent a free kick into the box that Roberto Firmino headed in to continue his fine start to the season.

Chelsea's defending was suspect for the second goal allowing Firmino a free header.

Chelsea have been ravaged by injuries in the first half as Emerson and Andreas Christensen have departed with Marcos Alonso and Kurt Zouma coming on.

Liverpool look likely to continue their 100% record this season and regain their five point gap at the top of the Premier League.
