After spending time as the #16, #3, and #11, Bale will supposedly don the #9 for Tottenham and Spurs teased it quietly but also right in front of the public-eye at the same time.
Caught on Twitter, Tottenham's official profile had their bio changed and was screenshotted by a Twitter profile going by the name of Dan Kilpatrick.
Bale will join a long-list of #9's in Tottenham's history including the likes of Jimmy Greaves, Paul Gascoigne, Dimitar Berbatov.

It has since been announced that Bale will in fact take the #9 for his old club.
The teaser from an hour before the official announcement was deemed right then and hopefully many Tottenham fans caught it before buying Bale with several different numbers on their new shirts.
Nonetheless, Tottenham fans around the globe are incredibly happy to have their once-talisman back playing for their club.
