Real Madrid are planning an audacious swoop for Erling Haaland this summer followed by Kylian Mbappe in 2021.

Zinedine Zidane has begun rebuilding his side since returning last year and spent big on Eden Hazard last summer.

Spanish publication Marca are now reporting that the Frenchman wants to sign football's two hottest prospects within the next two seasons.

Madrid are aware that it will be tough to do but 'not impossible'.

Norwegian international Haaland only signed for Borussia Dortmund in January but has already set the Bundesliga on fire.

The 19-year-old has scored 12 goals in his first 11 games for the German side and he looks to be the real deal.

His release clause is only £66 million meaning Madrid could swoop in during the summer and seal his signature.

'Los Blancos' signed Luka Jovic last summer but the Serbian has yet to settle at the Bernabeu.

Madrid fans would be delighted with Haaland's arrival but the real main event could come in the shape of Mbappe in 2021.

The World Cup winner's contract with French giants Paris Saint-Germain expires in 2022 and he's shown no desire to sign a new contract.

Zidane is a huge admirer of Mbappe and expressed his feelings when his side clashed with PSG in November.

"I've known him for a long time," Zidane said in his pre-match press conference back in November.

"I'm in love with him, firstly as a person, because he came to do a trial here a while ago. He is a rival, and that's it. I cannot say anything else."

Former French winger Jerome Rothen claimed earlier this week that a deal for Mbappe to move to the Spanish capital was all but done, but has been put on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic.

"I know from club sources that a deal to take Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid was almost done," Rothen told Radio Montecarlo per Goal.

"But with what has been happening, I'm sure that Mbappe's arrival at Real Madrid will be postponed."

Rothen then went on to add: "There is no way that Mbappe will extend his contract with PSG.

"They will have an agreement between them in place because PSG agreed to let him go this summer. In my opinion, it's just a question of time."

Mbappe and Haaland at Real Madrid together would be some partnership.

Do you think both players will end up at Real Madrid?
