Manchester United Offered £154 Million For One Of The World's Biggest Talents This Summer

Manchester United were ready to offer £154 million for Barcelona teenager Ansu Fati earlier this summer.

United have been looking to sign a winger in the transfer window and Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho is said to be their main target.

But negotiations have stalled and Catalunya Radio report United did explore other options, including 17-year-old Fati.

However, they ended negotiations when Barca explained his release clause had increased to £363 million in his new contract.

United's attentions have turned back to Sancho ahead of next week's transfer deadline.

Dortmund have remained firm in their £108 million valuation of the England international, who registered 17 goals and 17 assists in the Bundesliga last season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also keen to secure a deal for Porto's Alex Telles before the window slams shut.

But due to the award being sponsored by Budweiser, Fati could not accept it as he is under the legal drinking age in Spain.

Despite not receiving the award, Fati remained upbeat and insisted he is "living the dream" at the Camp Nou.

"Playing with [Lionel] Messi is a dream I had since I was a child and now I am living it," Fati explained per Goal.

"He gives me a lot of advice, he helps me a lot on the pitch and in training, but away from it too, and that makes me very happy.
