Manchester United reportedly believe that they have dodged a bullet by not completing a transfer for Borussia Dortmund ace Jadon Sancho.
The Red Devils were heavily linked with the England international throughout last summer, but were unable to agree a transfer fee with the German club.
According to the Sunday Mirror, United's interest in Sancho has now cooled, and it is actually his teammate that they are more keen to sign.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer tried to convince Erling Haaland to move to Old Trafford from Red Bull Salzburg last January, but he ended up going to the Westfalenstadion instead.
Since then, the 20-year-old has scored a frankly ridiculous 23 goals in just 23 Bundesliga appearances, and has confirmed himself as one of the top talents in Europe.
This is in contrast to Sancho, who has relatively struggled since his transfer saga. The 20-year-old hasn't managed to score in his 11 Bundesliga matches this season, after bagging 17 goals in 32 appearances last time round.

Solskjaer has actually signed Haaland in the past, at Molde in their native Norway. However, it would likely take a big effort for a repeat to happen, with Barcelona and Real Madrid also linked with the youngster.
It would also mean dealing with controversial agent Mino Raiola. The adviser has been at the centre of the Paul Pogba saga in Manchester, and Haaland is another of his clients.
However, United would apparently still be willing to bring the striker to the club, say the Mirror.
With Solskjaer's side flying high in the Premier League, Haaland could be just what is needed at Old Trafford to continue their remarkable growth under the former Cardiff City manager.

United are currently on equal points with league leaders Liverpool, and the addition of such a prolific goalscorer could be what they need to mount a serious challenge to their fierce rivals.
