Manchester United have wrapped up a deal to sign Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly according to Italian radio.

Italian journalist Fabio Santini has claimed that a deal for the Senegal international is all done and the transfer fee will be in the region of £64 million.

United have reportedly had the 28-year-old on their radar for some time and he could be a Premier League player by the summer.

Santini told TV show Il Processo on the station 7 Gold: ''Napoli will sell Kalidou Koulibaly to Manchester United for a figure of around 70-75m Euros. It seems all done''.

He went on to add: ''Naturally, such a deal will be closed only in June and certainly not in January in the winter transfer window''.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has added defenders Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire to his backline this season but clean sheets are still a premium at Old Trafford.

Maguire has been a key player since his £80 million move and has taken the captain's armband on a number of occasions.

While United are fifth in the Premier League table, England international Maguire thinks they need to become more consistent to finish in the top four.

He told reporters after the 4-0 win against Norwich City on Saturday: ''Our problem has been inconsistency.

''We have played two good games and one bad game and it has not been good enough in terms of that. We are not getting carried away. It was a good performance, clean sheet, win but we have to go again on Wednesday and get another good result.

''Like I said, if we put a few wins together on the bounce we will have every chance of a top four finish''.

'The Red Devils' have also seen themselves linked with a move for Sporting Lisbon's Bruno Fernandes this month.

The Portuguese midfielder is reportedly keen on a move to Old Trafford and would add quality to a position United are lacking in.

Despite this, there has been no agreement between the clubs over a fee for the 25-year-old.

Solskjaer has refused to talk publicly about Fernandes and has insisted the club will only sign long-term targets in the January transfer window, despite numerous injury concerns.

Should the duo sign over the next two transfer windows, then United could be set for a return to the top in English football.
