The Portuguese superstar arrived at Old Trafford in January 2020 and his impact has been massive, with United keen to offer him a new five-year deal.
Despite this, The Sun claim he is keen to see what happens with Pogba's future as he believes the Frenchman is a key player for the Red Devils.
Pogba's agent Mino Raiola has been vocal when it comes to his client's future and the World Cup winner's current deal expires in 2022.
Should he choose to leave, it'd be a blow to Fernandes who has struck up a close bond with his teammate on and off the pitch.
"I think, on the pitch, there is still to come the best for both of us. We can do much better together," Fernandes told United's official website per The Mirror.
"I think we are doing better now because people and players are concerned about who they might mark - we have Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes in the same places, the same pockets.
Bruno Fernandes will reportedly commit his future to Manchester United by signing a new contract - but only if Paul Pogba does the same.- Sky Sports Premier League (@SkySportsPL) April 22, 2021
"Sometimes it is difficult for players to find who to mark and who to give freedom and so it's good for the team. That is the best for us because we know we can help the team playing together.
"I think when you play with the best, your best comes out."
Fernandes is yet to win a trophy with United and he's eager to see how they plan to strengthen the squad this summer.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has guided United to second in the Premier League table, but they're still eight points behind bitter rivals Manchester City.
When asked about trophies, Fernandes explained earlier this month per teamTALK: "We can't think of anything else at this club.
"United is made for trophies and the whole mood is around that.
"We reached the semis [of the League Cup] and lost to City, but that's not enough.
"That wasn't our time - we need to be in finals, and to win them."
