Fans Spot Mason Mount 'Liking' Post Of Transfer Target In A Chelsea Kit

Chelsea fans have spotted Mason Mount 'liking' a picture of Declan Rice wearing a Blues shirt - with many thinking it hints at a transfer.

Frank Lampard has long been an admirer of the West Ham United midfielder but a move didn't materialise in the summer.

It is believed Chelsea remained interested in the Rice and he's close friend with academy graduate Mount.

The 21-year-old recently 'liked' an edited picture of Rice in royal blue, with many thinking a move could be soon.

Supporters have debated the signing on Reddit, with one user writing: "Watched a couple West Ham games Bc I was skeptical as well, but he's a solid player. Chemistry with the team wouldn't be a problem, and he's young like the core of the team.

"Would be nice to have when Kante is getting older or if we wanted a double pivot. I doubt it'll happen in January though for a reasonable fee."

A second added: "He's already a pretty good young CDM already captaining a PL team aged 21, established England international and already has ties with the club?"

While a third commented: "Can't believe people still don't rate Rice. Actually baffles me."

Mount and Rice have been friends for over a decade and have been pictured on holiday together in the past.

When asked if he'd want to play with Mount at club level in the future, Rice told Copa90 per Football London: "Yeah I'd love to, I'd love to play with him at club level again.

"One thing we've always said as kid we'd love to play with each other at club and international level.

"But obviously you never know because of different paths and things like that."

Chelsea are currently ninth in the Premier League table and suffered a huge 3-1 defeat to Manchester City last weekend.

There is pressure on Lampard but he looks to get back to winning ways this weekend, when Chelsea take on Morecambe in the FA Cup third round.

Meanwhile, Rice and West Ham face Stockport County on Monday.
